Satan's Van Gogh

Recently I was thinking a lot about some of the great works of art, paintings and such. Perhaps it was because of the buzz created during the 2024 Olympics when misguided “Christians” who don’t know much about history mistook a skit performed by a group of drag queens as a mockery of Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting “The Last Supper”, which itself is an actual gross mockery of Yeshua’s Passover. But then I found myself looking at the works of Vincent Van Gogh and some of the Japanese Ukiyo-e works, as I had found a unique Hawaiian style camp shirt blending Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” with Hokusai’s “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa” paintings.
And as I thought on these famous paintings, and many others, commonly referred to as masterpieces, I thought about how Satan has created a masterpiece of his own. Yes, the adversary of our faith has painted a work of art that has surely become his greatest accomplishment—the religion of antinomian “Christianity”. Upon the canvas of this painting, every brushstroke is another deceived soul who embraces the message that they can be a “Christian” but do not have to live by The Torah of our God. And if you will give me a fair chance and read through this message before making any judgments, I think you will see that I have a valid point.
See, originally I put together a video message for this idea, but I am not satisfied to stop there. I feel this is such a powerful message that I must accompany it with an original written article as well. This way I can really get a little deeper into the ideas I am presenting as well, and put this message into a format that may appeal to those who prefer to read instead of listening to the intensity of a preacher. Therefore, I will take a little time here and write out the ideas I presented in the video, but with a different tone and a different format, in the hope that I can get through to some people just how absurd the antinomian approach to Scripture truly is.
You see, the “Christian” religion today is said to be the faith of 2.6 billion people around the world. That is nearly one-third of the total world population. The overwhelming majority of those who claim to be of the “Christian” faith hold to some form of antinomian beliefs. Most are not fully antinomian, but they believe that there are at least some parts of The Torah that are obsolete or not binding on new covenant faith—most common are the Leviticus 11 food laws, The Sabbath Day, the appointed Feast Days, and commandments that would deem popular holidays such as Christmas and Easter to be in violation of God’s Word. In fact, estimates would say that only about one million to at most two million of the 2.6 billion hold a truly pronomian or Torah-positive belief, which is only about 0.04% to 0.08% of people who identify as “Christians”.
I find this interesting because in Matthew 7:21-23 Yeshua describes a class of people He refers to as the “many”, of which he says will be those who speak of the various things they claimed to do in His name, and that He will turn them away from His Kingdom. I will talk more about that in a moment, but the description of this group of people only truly matches with antinomian “Christianity”. Then in Revelation 12:9 it says that the ancient serpent, called Satan, will deceive the whole world.
When we look earlier in Matthew 7, at verses 13 and 14, it says that the “many” will be those who follow a wrong path, a broad way that leads to death and destruction, and that there will be another group known as the “few” who will find a narrow gate and beyond it a way that leads to life. 2.6 billion people, nearly one-third of the world’s population, is hardly descriptive of the “few”, but rather the “many” Yeshua spoke of in this chapter of Matthew’s Gospel and a significant portion of the whole world that Satan, the ancient serpent, deceives. In contrast, those one or two million people, in comparison not only to the 2.6 billion who claim to be “Christians” but even the total world population that is currently about 8.2 billion people. And you know, while Revelation 12:9 speaks of Satan deceiving the whole world, of which the 2.6 billion antinomian “Christians” are a significant part, Revelation 12:17 says that Satan wages war against those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Yeshua. Satan, then, is only actually attacking about one or two billion people worldwide at most, and since a certain portion of those in the pronomian category are those in the Hebrew Roots cults and possibly a few other questionable sects, it may even be less than a million people in the entire world that Satan sees as a threat to his agenda.
You know, The Bible speaks about how death and hell are never full, while the Kingdom of Yah is a place where very few will enter. It probably would be a good idea, if you are among the antinomian “Christian” masses that have come across this message, to take my words a little serious. Instead of dismissing what I am going to share with you because you have been force-fed a message in your churches that you do not have to follow God’s Law as a “Christian”, perhaps you would do good to give a lot of thought to what I want to share with you here.
You see, The Bible is a Hebrew book. It was written by the Hebrew people, the people of Israel. It was written about the Hebrew God, YHWH, and the Hebrew Messiah, Yeshua. And the entire Bible was written within the cultural context of the Torah-keeping Hebrew people. Literally every single person who was involved in writing The Bible we have today was a person who believed in living by The Torah. That alone proves that antinomian beliefs are unbiblical, they go directly against The Bible because they are the opposite of what the people who wrote The Bible believed. Whenever a passage of Scripture is used in support of antinomian beliefs it is being taken out of context on that point alone. And yet, despite all of this, “Christianity” is in The Bible. No, it’s not directly in The Bible, as the religion was not formally established until several hundred years after the final words of the accepted canon were written—first through the Roman Catholic religion and then just a mere five-hundred years ago through the establishing of Protestantism. And when you get into Pentecostal forms of “Christianity”—which are both the current fasted growing form of “Christian” religion and likely the closest of all the antinomian groups to a true biblical faith, at least in my opinion—they are only about a hundred years old as the early Pentecostal movement began in the early 1900s.
But, “Christianity” is in The Bible, and I am going to show it to you. And to get started, we need to go all the way to the beginning of The Bible. Yes, the first appearance of antinomian “Christianity” is all the way back at the beginning of the Book of Genesis.
The Origin Of Antinomianism

But the serpent was shrewder than any animal of the field that Adonai Elohim made. So it said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from all the trees of the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “Of the fruit of the trees, we may eat. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God said, ‘You must not eat of it and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” The serpent said to the woman, “You most assuredly won’t die! For God knows that when you eat of it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
—Genesis 3:1-5 (TLV)
I know that I bring this passage up a lot, and that’s because it needs to be a primary focus. Until you, as a “Christian”, come to a full realization that the core message of your churches is identical to the message of Satan in the midst of the garden of Eden you will continue to be deceived by the tricks of that ancient Edenic serpent.
It’s particularly crazy to me, but here we find the beginning of sin in this world and the commandment violated was a food law, they ate something God said not to eat. Yet, today the top commandment that “Christians” worldwide seem to object to are the Leviticus 11 food laws. You can get a lot of them to embrace keeping The Sabbath, and many others believe in keeping The Sabbath they just have the day wrong. You can get many to see value in keeping the appointed Feasts of Yah. Heck, in many cases you can get them to see that Christmas and Easter are pagan and idolatrous Roman Catholic festivals that are to be shunned easier than you can get them to stop eating unclean things that God referred to as “the abomination”.
In this passage there are three key elements to what Satan does to deceive the people into breaking the commandment of God. Today these exact same elements are the core of all antinomian, anti-Torah “Christian” beliefs. Take a look.
1. Satan asks the question: “Did God really say, did He really mean it, that you cannot eat from this tree as well?” Today I hear people ask all the time things like: “Where does The Bible say we ‘Christian’ have to follow the food laws, keep The Sabbath, celebrate ‘Jewish holidays’, live by The Torah?”
2. Satan proceeds to say: “You will not die if you eat the fruit of this tree.” Today the antinomian says: “These things are not a salvation issue. Nobody is ‘going to hell’ over eating unclean things or whether or not they keep The Sabbath and celebrate ‘Jewish holidays’.”
3. Satan concludes with the declaration: “If you eat the fruit, you will be like gods.” Today the deceived church masses boldly and brazenly declare: “If you dare to live according to The Torah you have fallen from grace, voided the cross, and insulted the resurrection and the shed blood of Yeshua.”
Do you see it? The modern antinomian “Christians” are following the exact same pattern in their core message, the basis for their entire belief system. The entire so-called “Christian” faith started right here in Genesis 3 with the words of the serpent, and it carries on today through the pulpits of antinomian pastors and preachers.
I was just thinking about something, and while I rarely drift into the world of sensational theological theories I think there is something to this one. If nothing else, it is certainly worthy of being “food for thought”—no pun intended, after all we are talking about Genesis 3 and the Leviticus 11 dietary commands here.
In Daniel chapters 11 and 12 there is something referred to as “the abomination of desolation” spoke of. Many students of Scripture have wrestled with what this is referring to over the years, and many have come up with some wild ideas about it. But what if we simplified it and focused on the two words used: abomination and desolation? Think about it. What is referred to as an abomination more than anything else in Scripture? The answer would be eating unclean things—stuff like pork, shellfish, rodents, birds of prey, most insects, any fish without scales like sharks, rays, skates, eels, catfish, and numerous other animals.
Then when I think about the word desolation, I am immediately drawn to Isaiah 24:5 where it says: “The land is polluted by its inhabitants, for they have transgressed Torah, violated statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant,” and Revelation 11:18 where it speaks of a time when God will destroy the destroyers of the earth. What if—again, just a theory, just “food for thought” here—this “abomination of desolation” is somehow directly linked with a rejection of the Torah food laws and antinomian beliefs? After all, in past studies I have found a link between eating unclean things and the destruction of whole ecosystems, in some cases resulting in the extinction or near-extinction of entire species.
I know this may sound a bit extreme to some, especially those who are completely sold on the idea that they, as “Christians” do not have to follow the food laws. But if we are being completely honest here, doesn’t this idea fit very well within the context of the whole counsel of Scripture? After all, in the first two chapters of Genesis humanity is charged with the proper care and stewardship of the earth, and the destruction of life on earth seems to always tie right back to eating things God said not to eat. So much of The Bible speaks of life and highlights aspects of The Creation, and eating unclean things and the abomination always leads to death and destruction. Yet Satan has successfully convinced 2.6 billion people around the world who call themselves “Christians” that they do not have to live by things like the clean and unclean food laws or other aspects of The Torah of God—His laws, His instruction, His statutes, His decrees.
The Houses That Bear His Name

Look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are empty. Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery and perjury, and offer incense to Baal and walk after other gods whom you have not known— and then come and stand before Me in this house that bears My Name, saying, ‘We are saved!’—so that you may keep doing all these abominations? Has this House, which bears My Name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Look, even I have seen it!” It is a declaration of Adonai.
—Jeremiah 7:8-11 (TLV)
Here we find an interesting passage that also parallels antinomian “Christianity”. While it may not necessarily be the case that they are stealing, murdering, or committing adultery and perjury—though certainly some do these things too, including a number of pastors who are constantly being exposed for such behaviors, especially from these mega-churches—the modern-day “Christians” certainly have their own list of Torah violations. They eat unclean things, desecrate the appointed Feast Days, profane The Sabbath, and numerous other things. They may not be worshiping Ba’al, but they might as well be when they celebrate things like Christmas and Easter, bowing to the pagan and idolatrous popes of Roman Catholicism instead of The God of The Bible.
And the passage says that these who in this day were doing all of these things that transgress The Torah of God would then go to the house that bears His Name and claim that they are saved. Ask any “Christian” who goes to their churches that allegedly bear the name of Yah or the name of Yeshua and ask them if they are saved and they will not hesitate to say that they are.
They claim salvation through the message of antinomianism so that they might keep doing all of the abominations they live for. I mean, just go to a church picnic or potluck and look at the spread of food. You will find lots of swine flesh, you will likely see some form of shellfish, and in some areas you may even find some more exotic unclean things. They go to the houses that supposedly bear His name, claim to be saved, and live to do the very things that God calls an abomination in His Word.
They trust in the deceptive words of their preachers and pastors, lying to them and telling them that that are no longer required to live by The Torah. These deceivers tell them that anyone who wants to follow “The Law” has fallen from grace, voided the cross, insulted the blood of Yeshua. It’s all lies, but it’s also “Christianity” found in The Bible, once again parallel to a passage like Jeremiah 7:8-11.
Yah Is Profaned Among Them

There is a conspiracy of her prophets in her midst, like a roaring lion tearing prey. They have devoured lives, they take wealth and valuables, they multiply widows in her midst. Her kohanim have done violence to My Torah and have profaned My holy things; they have made no distinction between the holy and the profane, nor have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean. They shut their eyes to My Shabbatot. So I am profaned among them.
—Ezekiel 22:25-26 (TLV)
Here we have yet another passage that so perfectly aligns with the beliefs of antinomian forms of the “Christian” religion. And this one, man, I can’t even wrap my head around how this is in The Bible and they still think that what they believe is some form of “truth”.
Look at that first line too, does it remind you of anything? It should. 1 Peter 5:8 says that Satan is like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. I mean, let’s use a little bit of common sense here. Satan is the one in Genesis 3 who told us we can eat things God said not to eat. Satan is the one in Revelation 12:9 who deceives the whole world and in Revelation 12:17 wages war solely and exclusively against the Torah-keeping followers of Yeshua. And here we have a passage saying that there are prophets and priests who are like a roaring lion, the exact same words used of Satan.
And what does this passage say that this roaring lion does? They devour lives, take wealth, and multiply widows. What do “Christian churches” do? They devour lives, take wealth, and multiply widows. Look, I saw one of the big “Christian” television stations some time ago advertising a program for people to leave their entire estate and inheritance to the so-called “television ministry”. The Bible tells you to leave an inheritance to your children’s children, not to the wolves in sheep’s clothing and the roaring lion of lying and deceiving antinomian “Christian” religion.
Then the passage says that the priests, the roaring lion, ultimately Satan and his minions called “preachers”, do violence to The Torah of God. They make no distinction between the clean and the unclean. Again, think about the food laws, that is the distinction between the clean and the unclean, more than anything else in The Bible the distinction between clean and unclean animals regarding what is acceptable as food and what is not is referred to with the terms clean and unclean. Sure, there are other things that fall under the broader banner of distinguishing between the clean and unclean, but not as frequently as the food laws are spoken of in Scripture.
Then they shut their eyes to the Shabbatot, that is the plural word for “Sabbath”. This, as the plural, speaks of both the weekly seventh-day Sabbath—sunset Friday to sunset Saturday—and the annual High Sabbaths on the appointed Feast Days. It may also include the Shemita years, every seventh year when farming lands were to be given a Sabbath, and perhaps even the millennium which will be a thousand-year Sabbath. But since most people today are not farmers and we are not yet living in the millennium we will stick with the weekly Sabbath and the High Sabbaths on the Feast Days here.
There are very few passages in Scripture, even among those I am highlighting in this message, that so perfectly parallel the modern antinomian “Christian” religion. How this passage is in The Bible and they can’t see that they are doing the exact same thing is something I honestly have a hard time comprehending. And yet here it is, plain as can be in The Bible, and the so-called “Christian churches” carry on this work of deception to this day.
In the video that this article is accompanying, at this point in the message I spoke a little more in depth about the pagan Roman Catholic holidays. I am going to omit that from this written form of the message, you can certainly listen to or watch the video for that. It’s not because it is unimportant, but for the sake of the length of this article I want to cut some things out. So, I will now jump to the next passage I highlighted in the video.
Who Changed God’s Law?

He will speak words against the Most High, and will continually harass the kedoshim of the Most High, and will try to change the appointed times and law. The kedoshim will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time.
—Daniel 7:25 (TLV)
Now, this is a particularly interesting passage, because most “Christians” would agree this is in some form speaking either of Satan himself or some direct servant of Satan. But also, once again, we find another direct parallel to antinomian “Christianity”.
I cannot tell you how much I am harassed by those who insist and persist in their beliefs that they have no obligation to follow The Torah. I do not walk into their “churches” and start going off on them about their lawlessness. I don’t even go onto their social media pages and do that. Sure, from time to time I will try to engage one of them in a discussion—especially if it’s someone I have established some form of a relationship with, even if only an Internet-based relationship. But I don’t go around harassing antinomians.
Yet they sure do like to harass me, as well as other pronomian or Torah-positive teachers and preachers. They have no etiquette, nor do they seem to have any tact or integrity. They seek out anyone who is teaching obedience to God’s Torah and apparently see our 0.04% to 0.08% of the whole of the 2.6 billion people claiming to be “Christians” as such a great threat to their faith that they feel the need to attack and harass us. And while I do not recall receiving any myself, thankfully, I have pronomian friends who have even received death threats from so-called “Christians”.
And look what it says, that this Satanic anti-Messiah figure, whether Satan himself or not really doesn’t matter so whatever your view of this passage is it speaks of one who will attempt to change God’s Law—His Torah—and appointed times. And today the modern religion of antinomian “Christianity”, that belief system of 2.6 billion people, claims that there has been a significant change both to The Torah and to the appointed times. They say that they no longer have to keep parts of The Torah like the food laws, The Sabbath, the Feast Days and a few other things—there is a growing trend among “Christians” to get tattoos, and try to reason with them about the prohibition against wearing wool and linen together and see how they react—while claiming that they have their own “Christian holidays”. They have literally done and are doing exactly what this passage in Daniel describes as being the work of Satan.
And you know, one of the passages they love to turn to is Hebrews 7:12 and other segments of Hebrews to claim a change in the law. Well, in order to get a correct understanding of what Hebrews is talking about you have to weigh it against Daniel 7:25, because if it is the work of Satan to try changing The Torah and appointed times, then that simply cannot be what Hebrews 7 is talking about. While there are some really good pronomian teachings and commentaries available on Hebrews 7:12 and the surrounding passages used by antinomians, there is a simple way to explain how this passage is not at all saying what they think it says—which again is quite problematic when weighed against Daniel 7:25.
In the United States and other nations where government leaders are elected by a vote of the people, there is a frequent change in administration. In other words, when someone new is elected to an office like President or Governor, there is a change in the administration, just as Hebrews 7:12 says there is a change in the priesthood. What does not change in the transition from the outgoing President to the incoming President is The Constitution of The United States. The new President may have a different way of upholding and enforcing The Constitution, but The Constitution itself does not change. And that is what Hebrews 7:12 is saying.
There is a growing scholarly consensus that the phrase “Law of Christ” used a handful of times in Scripture does not refer to some new and different law than The Torah of God, as antinomians have long proposed. Rather, they are now saying that this phrase “Law of Christ” refers to The Torah as it was taught by Yeshua. In other words, there is The Torah as upheld by the Levites under that priesthood, and now there is The Torah as upheld by Yeshua under His priesthood. The Torah itself, however, remains the same and its mandates continue unchanged and eternal. With this understanding, there is no longer a conflict with Daniel 7:25, and it remains the biblical fact that claiming the kind of changes antinomian “Christians” believe there are to The Torah and appointed times is the work of Satan.
Depart From Me…

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, and drive out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”
—Matthew 7:21-23 (TLV)
Look, this is the one passage that more than any other I have brought up in this message should be taken very seriously. I know that all of the passages I have highlighted thus far perfectly parallel the belief of almost all of “Christianity”. But this passage refers to the words of Yeshua, our Messiah, Himself. And I know I already mentioned this passage in the opening words of this message, but there are some things I still need to tell you about it.
While we have already covered briefly how this passage is describing a group of people called “many” as those who boast about what they claim to be doing in Yeshua’s name—prophesying, casting out devils, working miracles—only to be turned away because of lawlessness. And listen, just because those are the only three things mentioned here, don’t think for a minute they are the only things people will try this with.
There will be cessationists who don’t even believe in modern-day prophesying, casting out devils, or working miracles who will say: “Lord, Lord, didn’t we visit the hospitals and the prisons, didn’t we run a food pantry and hand out swine flesh to the poor, didn’t we go on missionary trips to third world countries in your name?” There are going to be all sorts of different things people will stand before Him and claim to have done “in His name”.
But here’s the thing, because if you look at verse 23 in multiple translations it uses many words for that last word—lawlessness, iniquity, lawbreakers, evil people, evildoers, wickedness, the Amplified Bible even, surprisingly, has in brackets [disregarding My commands]. However, none of these words really drive the point of what is actually being said here. If we turn to the original Greek text, the word is anomia (ἀνομία), and this is the base word for antinomian and antinomianism. One definition I found for antinomian said that it “is any view which rejects laws or legalism”, and you know that’s one of the top accusations you will get from them when you bring up Torah-obedience. They will usually either call you a legalist or a Judaizer. But seeing as what Yeshua was actually saying here was: “Depart from Me, I never knew you, worker of anomia”, He is quite literally saying that He is going to reject all of the antinomian “Christians” from admission into His Kingdom—the very people who believe following The Torah is legalism are the people who will be turned away.
He described modern “Christian” religion perfectly and then said that He would turn them all away for one reason: They did not live according to The Torah. The Greek word for The Torah, used throughout the apostolic writings as well as the Greek Septuagint (which is the translation of the Hebrew Bible, the Tanakh, what many wrongly label “Old Testament”, from Hebrew to Greek a few hundred years prior to the life and ministry of Yeshua) is nomos. It’s the opposite of the word anomia. Yeshua is going to turn away all of the antinomian “Christians” from entering His Kingdom. That is an inescapable biblical fact. It’s not that hard to see it, and when you do see it you will not be able to unsee it. Yet, it is hard to get people to see it, and in a moment I will explain why.
Sound Doctrine And Itching Ears

For the time will come when they will not put up with sound instruction, but they will pile up for themselves teachers in keeping with their own desires, to have their ears tickled.
—2 Timothy 4:3 (TLV)
Let me ask you a simple question: What do you suppose would be “sound doctrine” to a first century Torah-observant Jewish follower of Yeshua? Because that’s what the person who wrote this passage was, a Torah-observant follower of Yeshua. And to that writer, the apostle Paul, sound doctrine would be The Torah. Proverbs 4:2 says, “For I give you good doctrine, forsake no my law.” The word “law” in the Proverb is the Hebrew Torah. Paul, as with the rest of Yeshua’s first century followers, would have known this and regarded The Torah as the only basis of sound doctrine.
The modern “Christian”, however, does not consider The Torah to be sound doctrine. They are prone to the itching of the ears, anything that tells them that they can be saved while living in defiance to The Torah of God—remember what we looked at from Jeremiah 7. A preacher of a past generation, Vance Havner, uttered a statement that probably could summarize this entire message, look at what he once said.
The devil is not fighting religion. He's too smart for that. He is producing a counterfeit Christianity, so much like the real one that good Christians are afraid to speak out against it. We are plainly told in the Scriptures that in the last days men will not endure sound doctrine and will depart from the faith and heap to themselves teachers to tickle their ears. We live in an epidemic of this itch, and popular preachers have developed “ear-tickling” into a fine art.
It’s interesting to me whenever I come across such statements and I know the people who said these things were antinomians to some degree, and so very likely were among those “many” who are going to be rejected for their anomia, their rejection of any part of The Torah of God. But we cannot deny the powerful truth of this statement, as antinomian “Christian” religion truly is Satan’s greatest masterpiece, his most magnificent work of art, his Van Gogh, that very same counterfeit that Havner was speaking of.
Satan wages war against one very small group of people. Revelation 12:17 says, “So the dragon became enraged at the woman and went off to make war with the rest of her offspring—those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Yeshua.” It is Torah-keeping followers of Yeshua alone that Satan is fighting against. The masses in antinomian “Christian” churches are exactly where Satan wants them to be.
Now, make no mistake, Satan will initiate false attacks against these antinomians, because that keeps them thinking they are in right standing with God. So, a “church-goer” who doesn’t live by The Torah may come down with some sickness or have a financial dilemma and they will be led to believe that Satan is attacking them for their faith, when in reality he is just trying to keep them thinking that they are following the truth so they will stay bound to the lie. In the same manner he will also at times provide them with false “blessings” for the same reason—like, he can take away the sickness he used to trick them, and they will think that was God. According to The Torah, however, the true blessing of God is only for the Torah-obedient. These petty attacks and false blessings are a diversion, Satan is not at war with antinomian “Christians”, they are exactly where he wants them to be. As long as you go to church, read The Bible, pray, listen to worship songs, and do anything else “Christians” do but remain opposed to living by The Torah, Satan is happy and will leave you alone other than when he needs to do some little thing to keep you deceived.
It’s More Like A Picasso

You know, when you fully evaluate the modern antinomian “Christian” religion it ends up looking more like the work of Pablo Picasso than Vincent Van Gogh or any other great artist. Picasso is most known for his abstract designs that took reality into a world of fantasy. Because that’s what antinomian beliefs are, some sort of fantasy land “Christian” fiction pseudo-theology.
Among the great problems with antinomian beliefs is that they always have certain parts of The Bible going against other parts of The Bible. Take what we looked at earlier from Hebrews 7:12, they use this to claim that there is a change to The Torah. That means that their view of Hebrews is against The Torah. The pronomian view of Hebrews, on the other hand, harmonizes Hebrews and The Torah and everything else in The Bible. The antinomians cannot harmonize The Bible, only a pronomian approach to Scripture can do that. So, the antinomian then creates a bizarre and abstract theology more reminiscent of a painting by Picasso.
I was just trying to reason with one guy, he is a staunch antinomian but he made a reference to a passage from Psalm 119. So, I questioned him about it. I explained that Psalm 119 is the longest “chapter” in The Bible, it’s in the exact center of the accepted canon of The Bible, it’s an acrostic Psalm, and it makes 25 direct references to The Torah, the Psalmist talking about how much he loves and delights in The Torah and calling The Torah the way, truth, and life—and in just a moment I am going to show you something else it says, something that might just blow your mind. Instead of acknowledging this and facing the reality that maybe he is wrong about The Torah, he replied with some nonsense about David not being judged by The Torah.
And that’s the stuff that really boggles my mind. Like, the way these people think—David did bad things, David was called a man after God’s own heart, so I don’t need to follow The Torah, I can do bad things and still be a man after God’s own heart. It sounds silly when you say it like that, but this is quite literally how most “Christians” have been conditioned to think.
You know, we started this journey in Genesis 3, but we stopped with verse 5. When you get to verse 24, however, we find that humanity was cut off from accessing the Tree of Life because the commandment of God was broken. More recently on our journey to see “Christianity” in The Bible we looked at Revelation. Well, when we get to Revelation 22:14, just seven verses from the end of The Bible, we are told that those who kept the commandments, who lived by The Torah, will be given access to the Tree of Life.
Think about that. Think back to Matthew 7:23. Those who oppose The Torah will be turned away from The Kingdom and those who live by The Torah will not only be granted entry but will be given access to the Tree of Life. It’s this kind of stuff that makes me wonder how “Christians” can possibly believe the crazy things they have been told about The Torah. How much more can possibly be done? If going through the Scriptures that parallel antinomian “Christian” beliefs can’t make it clear, can anything?
I challenge people all the time, read The Bible from beginning to end and ask two questions while reading it: Why aren’t we doing these things in our churches? Why can’t I find so much of what we do in our churches within the pages of The Bible?
You know, The Bible is not a hard book to figure out. First, there is The Torah, the commandments of God, His instructions on how to live in the earth He created for us and to prepare us for life in His Kingdom. Second, after The Torah, there are stories about those who kept the commandments of God and the good things that happened to them, stories about those who rejected and broke the commandments of God and the not-so-good things that happened to them, and the constant call of the prophets and the apostles and The Messiah Himself telling everyone to just live according to The Torah.
We have looked at a number of passages in this message that mirror the teachings of antinomian “Christian” beliefs—claiming that The Torah is changed or done away with, making no distinction between the clean and unclean, disregard for The Sabbaths, defying The Torah while claiming to be saved, and so many other things. Genesis 3:1-5 literally tells the story of what happened the first time people ate something God said not to eat, and to this day one of the hardest things to convince most “Christians” about is following the Leviticus 11 food laws. But let me share a few more passages with you.
One who turns his ear from hearing Torah
—even his prayer is an abomination.
—Proverbs 29:9 (TLV)
You reject all who don’t obey your laws, because they are liars and did not do what they said.
—Psalm 119:118 (ERV)
The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
—1 John 2:4 (TLV)
If you are reading this and have been one who has embraced antinomian beliefs, why don’t you really think hard about these things. But even more than that, think about these two passages.
Now behold, one came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good shall I do to have eternal life?”
“Why do you ask Me about what is good?” Yeshua said to him. “There is only One who is good; but if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
—Matthew 19:16-17 (TLV)
After he brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
They said, “Put your trust in the Lord Yeshua and you will be saved—you and your household!”
—Acts 16:30-31 (TLV)
So, according to these passages God doesn’t even listen to those who turn from The Torah, He rejects those who reject His Torah, those who claim to be saved but do not live by The Torah are liars, and if you want to enter into life you need to live by The Torah. Yeshua was literally asked what to do to be saved and He said you have to follow The Torah. Paul and Silas were asked the same question and their response was: “What did Yeshua say?” Yeshua said to keep the commandments.
You know, it’s not that difficult. In The Bible Satan is the lawless one and Yeshua is The Righteous One (2 Thessalonians 2:8-12, Isaiah 53:11). Lawlessness, or sin, is biblically defined as breaking, violating, transgressing The Torah (1 John 3:4). Righteousness is biblically defined as following, keeping, obeying, living by The Torah (Deuteronomy 6:25). Quite literally your position on The Torah is the determining factor of whether you follow Yeshua or Satan. Those who follow Yeshua are those who live by The Torah, those who claim to be saved but reject following The Torah are the followers of Satan.
One of the biggest problems with “Christianity” is that it is a religion that simply does not teach The Bible. It uses The Bible, out of context, to support beliefs that go completely against The Bible.
Take the Leviticus 11 food laws, for example. “Christians” will take passages like Mark 7, Acts 10, Romans 14, Colossians 2:16-17, 1 Timothy 4:3-5, and others and present them as saying what they do not actually say, thus taking them out of context, and then use that misrepresentation of these passages as support for their belief that they are no longer bound by God’s commandments in this regard. As such, they will say that they are now allowed to eat anything, including pork, shellfish, and whatever else they want. So, they are not teaching The Bible, they are using The Bible out of context to promote a belief that goes against The Bible. The irony is that every single one of those “proof-text” passages being used to promote this idea about the food laws is actually telling us not to embrace religion and the traditions of men, but instead to live by the commandments of God.
It doesn’t matter if you go to church, pray, read The Bible, sing worship songs, or whatever else you do. If you do not live by The Torah you are following the wrong path.
Do I think a person can be saved without following The Torah? Yeah, I think it’s possible. That thief on the cross comes to mind, but that’s because he had no opportunity to live by The Torah following his genuine repentance and conversion experience. That tells me that there are scenarios where it’s possible. But for the majority, especially those who may find themselves exposed to a message like this, I’m not so sure I can say with good confidence that they are “saved” or will be accepted into The Eternal Kingdom. I have no authority to make any “final ruling” on this matter, but I can tell you what The Bible says, and based on what The Bible says it seems quite unlikely that the majority of “Christians” are actually saved.
A Challenge To Christians

If you currently hold an antinomian belief I would like to challenge you with something. Get a Bible, if you can get a translation with a better focus on the Hebraic tones of Scripture like the Tree Of Life Version or the Complete Jewish Bible (these are available to read on the Internet through popular Bible websites as well). Read The Bible from Genesis through Revelation with an open mind trying to understand it from a pronomian perspective. When you get to passages that have been traditionally used as the “proof-texts” for anti-Torah beliefs try to figure out how those passages might support a pronomian or Torah-keeping belief—you know, because the person who wrote it believed in living by The Torah. If you can’t understand it that way, look for pronomian, Messianic, or otherwise Torah-positive commentaries or teachings on that passage to help.
After you have read The Bible seeking to understand it this way, take it one step further and begin to read through or listen to teachings from good Torah-positive Bible teachers. Dig into the pronomian approach to Scripture, because most “Christians” never actually do this. They speak against a theological position they have never honestly evaluated. I have plenty of material for you to go through if you are willing to do an honest review of a Torah-positive theology.
After doing this, if you still think that antinomian “Christianity” is the way to go, then fine, roll on with it. At least then you can have the respect of having properly evaluated the Torah-positive position. I have friends, people I have known for decades in some cases, and they have tried to come against my position in the past, but they have never given my position a fair review. They are simply convinced that they are right and nothing will change their mind. Often times I tell them things that I know they have no way to counter, and they will say things like, “I guess I will go study more and get back to you.” They never do. They just show up again some time down the road—months later, years later—and come at me for something else. I have no respect for those kinds of people. If they would honestly review my work, I would respect them. But I also know that if they would honestly review my position they would likely change their position.
Unless they are truly among the spiritually blind. I mentioned earlier that it can be hard to get people to see it, and that is because there is a curse of blindness that comes upon those who are defiant to the idea of living by The Torah. In Deuteronomy 28 there is a list of blessings for those who live by The Torah followed by a longer list of curses imposed on those who do not. In Deuteronomy 28:28-29 it says that those who refuse to live by The Torah will be stricken with madness, with blindness, and with confusion of heart. It goes on to say that they will grope at noon as the blind person gropes in darkness. Then in 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 it describes those who follow the lawless one and says that God will strike them with a delusional force that will lead them to believe what is false, because they did not want to believe the truth. So, while I hope some people will find the truth through a message like this, I know that there will still be those among who Yeshua called “many” that even as plain as I have laid it out will be incapable of seeing it, because these passages say that they will not be able to see the truth even when it’s plain as day in front of their face. They are under a delusional force and groping as a blind person in the noon day, they literally cannot see the truth even when it is right in front of them.
Look, let me just be straight with you here. If you will honestly and with an open mind block out what they told you at church and review Scripture from a Torah-positive study, I can assure you that you will never be the same. And let’s be honest here. If you are a “Christian”, it’s because you believe The Bible is the true Word of God and Yeshua is the true Messiah. And if you believe that, then you really do owe it to yourself and your faith to figure out if what I and other pronomian teachers are saying is correct. Because this isn’t a situation of a minor mistake with minor consequences. This really might be the most important decision you make in your entire life. Would a rejection of the time it takes you to review this alternative view of Scripture really be worth ending up in the wrong place, potentially for all of eternity? If what I shared in this message was enough to at least get your attention even a little bit, I hope you will continue this journey and explore The Bible from the viewpoint that we are supposed to live by The Torah of God.
Don’t allow yourself to be another stroke of the brush on the canvas of Satan’s Van Gogh, Satan’s Picasso, Satan’s greatest masterpiece. Make the determination that you are going to live for God through Torah-obedience and do not allow anyone to deter you from it.
Blessings and Shalom
